They thought the Hallows drifted back into Fairy Tales...
Most did not know of the role that the Deathly Hallows played in the last wizarding war, nor what happened to them after the Battle of Hogwarts was over. While Harry Potter is the sole owner of all the Hallows, they had been placed or lost in secret spots to protect the world from future individuals that might seek their power. Most do not know where these secret spots are, and it is the hope of Harry that none find out. The Elder Wand, Harry being the sole master, was placed back into Dumbledor's tomb, hoping that the legend of the Elder Wand and the Hallows would fade back into a fairy tale in hopes that there will never again be a true master of the Elder Wand again, and that therefore its powers will be depleted. The Resurrection Stone had been accidentally lost in the Forbidden Forest, and he, himself, owned the Invisibility Cloak handed down to him by his father.
There was one family that knew the truth about the Hallows, and had grown up on the story. It was an excellent bedtime story, and a way to remember the dead who had passed on during the Second Wizarding War. Little ears gulped up the story, and dreamed about it. No one predicted that this family, the offspring of the trio, would turn around and seek the Hallows for themselves. It was unimaginable that the Boy-Who-Lived, Harry Potter, would have a child willing to trick, and break apart, his entire family to find those very same Hallows. Nor could anyone imagine that siblings of a man who spent his youth alone could grow so far apart and stand on opposite sides of a line being drawn.
Once in school, Albus Severus Potter knew that the Hallows had to be around the school somewhere. His brother possessed the Cloak of Invisibility, handed down by their father to the eldest son, but there was still a chance to retrieve the Elder Wand and the Resurrection Stone. It is not power for himself that he seeks, however. He appears to be nothing more than a follower to the son of Macnair, a vile boy greedy to make a name for himself.
James is aware of what his brother is up to, and wants to keep it from happening. He knows that it would break their father’s heart if his son turned out to be a bad apple. It has led to James ripping his cousin’s apart; insisting they are either with him or Albus. It’s not possible to support both sides.
With such a large family in all of the houses, it is hard for other students to escape the fights that are breaking out, and the trouble that is brewing. Most students do not believe the Deadly Hallows were ever real…
They were wrong.
