PERSONALITY:
Despite her upbringing, Anastasia is a surprisingly kind person. You just sort of have to dig to find that out. She’s not much one for conversation unless she really knows someone. And she doesn’t really know a lot of people because she’s not one for conversation. So really, it’s hard to get to know her. Generally she picks the people she wants to know, and once she does pick them, the conversation will in fact flow easily. All in all she can be extremely closed off and sometimes can be seen as emotionless. That was part of the reason her parents were worried she had an anti-social personality disorder. However, she doesn’t deliberately harm people for enjoyment, and she does have a conscience. She also has the ability to shut it down for awhile.
It’s part of the reason when she’s such a good auror. She’ll do almost anything to catch the person she’s after, and if that involves nearly killing them, then so be it. Granted, she’d never just walk up to an innocent person and cause them harm. Hence why she didn’t have the disorder in the first place. Her lack of communication was another reason she became an auror; it enabled her to blend in with her surroundings, be relatively unknown, and not blow any secrets. When she is around people that she likes, she’s the opposite of what she is when she works. When she works she is tough, strong, ruthless, and very vengeful. When she’s around friends she’s kind, calm, light-hearted, gentle, and very, very sweet.
For the few people she does hang around, she is a bloody loyal person. She’d go through Hell and back, and then to Hell again if it meant saving someone she loved. She’d do anything for her parents, anything for her sisters, and anything for her boyfriend. She is extremely protective, sometimes a bit obsessively, and you would think twice before messing with this girl. If she ever has kids she feels bad for any people that try to date them. Normally it’s the father that you’re supposed to worry about, but with Anastasia, it would be her. She wouldn’t want anyone messing with her babies, let alone breaking their hearts. She’s a fierce Russian momma bear. To make matters worse, someone had the brilliant idea of giving her a wand. She enjoys that little fact of life.

HISTORY:
Anastasia Magdalina Kovalyov was born on August 24th, 2017 to the parents of Anna-Marie and Nikolai Kovalyov. Ana was the second child born to these two particular people. The first was her older brother, Gregori, born two years prior, but more on him later. After the arrival of Anastasia- indeed named for the real Anastasia, not the Disney one- came her two younger sisters, Nemilka and Dimitria, 24 and 17, respectively. Despite the fact that Neither Anna nor Nikolai had great positions of authority in the real world, they were extremely strict parents. They raised their children with a no-nonsense attitude in order to toughen them up for the real world. This meant they never celebrated holidays other than by going to mass, nor did they celebrate birthdays or anniversaries. To Anastasia’s parents, being expelled from a woman’s under parts was not an accomplishment.
Instead, her parents rewarded her and her siblings for actual accomplishments: getting the highest mark in class, winning awards, winning sports tournaments, etc, etc. Needless to say, Anna and Nikolai’s lack of celebration did not mean they were horribly mean parents. In fact, neither her mother nor her father ever raised a hand to Anastasia; to this day she has never been grounded. Granted, she was a rather well behaved child who rarely needed to be punished for anything in the first place. She was a quiet and obedient child, and for her awhile her parents worried that she had an anti-social personality disorder. She preferred to read her books than make friends in school. It wasn’t until she was seven years old that she got her first friend, and she was twelve by the time she made another. In the end it seemed that Anastasia was just shy and closed off. She had a somewhat hard time trusting people, this being a result of her older brother.
To say she was abused by Gregori would be incredibly correct. At first it was typical brother-sister annoyance. He’d call her names, he’d pull her hair, he’d sometimes hit her. But as the two got older, things got worse. He’d push her down stairs, he’d hit her harder, and once he even broke her arm. However, he threatened her and she had to say that all her marks and bruises were accidents. Until she was twenty, her parents thought she broke her arm by falling off a bicycle when she was thirteen. The abuse grew from emotional and physical abuse to sexual abuse on the summer of her sixteenth birthday. The year before at Hogwarts was the last year of Gregori’s days at Hogwarts in the Slytherin house. The entire year he’d been acting strange, only coming over to Anastasia when he wanted to hurt or yell at her. One night he’d even come into her room, but left as soon as she awoke. But that summer they had come home and things took a turn for the worse.
Dimitria, who was a mere six years old at the time, was at a friend’s house for a sleepover, and Nemilka, who was 13, had snuck out to meet with some friends. Nikolai and Anna-Marie were at a friend’s wedding, leaving Anastasia behind with Gregori. The evening had been typical: Gregori yelled at her, hit her, and shut himself in his room. He didn’t come out the entire evening until Anastasia went to bed. Just as she was about to drift off to sleep, Gregori burst into her room. She struggled, she tried to fight, but he was stronger and it was no use; he raped her that night, and for the duration of the summer, things got worse and worse. She was too terrified to tell anyone, but she needed to get away. It was the worst summer of her life and she was more than glad to be returning to Hogwarts for her sixth year.
When she was there, things were a bit hard for her. She had a hard time sleeping in the Slytherin house, knowing that beyond her door there was a roomful of boys that could hurt her as bad as her brother did. There was the fear of having to return home for the holidays. There was the fear that somehow this was all her fault. She felt weak. She felt weak and she hated that feeling. The entire year not only did she devote herself to her studies, but she learned how to fight. She ran 5 miles a day and got an older student to teach her how to defend herself without a wand. She returned home a different person the next summer. She was shocked that the first night back Gregori would try something, but he did, and needless to say it was the last time he’d ever tried that. She fought and this time she won. Her parents heard the noise and came running, only to see Gregori far off in the distance down the street, Anastasia screaming curses at him from the top of her lungs in the middle of the road.
It has been ten years since any of the Kovalyov’s have seen Gregori, and they’re unaware of his current living situation; meaning, they’re unaware if he is alive or dead. Anastasia choose to believe he was dead. When she graduated from Hogwarts she threw herself into the world of crime, but to catch the people who did wrongs. Some people thought it was strange, a girl coming from Slytherin to stop[/] people from doing bad things, but she never paid attention to them. Eventually she caught up to a boy from school that she had a crush on for the longest time. Although she never told him how much she fancied him at Hogwarts, the two ended up dating. He was moody- angsty- and it somehow fascinated her. The teamed up and currently kick a lot of bad-wizard ass.

SAMPLE POST:
Unique? Alright, Lily could settle for that word. He was, after all, a very unique character that she still couldn't wrap her head around. For one thing, he was a crazy sexy man beast with all the money he could need with a million beautiful women at his disposal, and yet he made the decision to go out with her. And it was allll his decision, because he was the one that kissed her, not the other way around. Hmm, she thought back to that night when he almost got himself killed by yet another freaking harpy and decided he should do that again. Not the getting killed by a harpy part, but you know, kiss her.
She bit her lip slightly at the gentle touch of his absentminded fingers and tried to calm herself. She'd dated before; it wasn't like this was a first for her. What was a first was the way he made her feel. Was that how you were actually supposed to feel on dates? Generally before with her other two boyfriends, and then the few other guys she went on a couple dates with, she didn't really feel all that much. Some of them were perfectly nice, cute guys, too, but she always felt like it was just two friends hanging out. She certainly didn't get these annoying, pain in her ass, happy, gushy feelings that Cullen gave her. "I guess we know who's the settler here, hmm?" she teased. So he was her boyfriend? She could most definitely work with that.
But yeah, also definitely queen of NASA. It seemed that because of her high queen standards, she wore the pants in this relationship. At least, that's what she told herself in attempts to stop from going completely insane. She thought it worked. Liliana tried to keep a straight face and she rose an eyebrow at him. She tried for as long as she could, and eventually she just grinned. "Maybe I will," she replied, just to torture him a tiny bit more. She never said she was NICE to her dates. She smiled, very pleased with herself, at Cullen and relaxed back into the car seat. "See? I'm always right, mister pumpkinface," she nodded.
Lily laughed and shook her head. "I don't think that happened. Although if it did, maybe that would account for your barbaric, manly ways," she teased. Though, wasn't the Amazon more famous for its Amazonian women? Maybe he was secretly a girl. She sincerely doubted Cullen was of the female variety, however. Lily laughed again and sighed. "Maybe for Americans it's not a delicacy, but there are other cultures in the world who are equally repulsed by the concept of a cheeseburger," she said, feeling the need to state that. Of course, she'd never eat monkey brain soup, but she felt the need to defend those that did. She rolled her eyes and sighed. "Cullen, you need to appreciate the simple things in life. Sometimes those simple things are plain, grilled cheese sandwiches."
Lily furrowed her eyebrows in Cullen's general direction and made the very informed decision that he spoke far too cryptically. Then how was she not normal? It was a mystery. "I just kind of....I don't know, made things that didn't really need cooking, like cereal," she nodded. That was far more simple than burning down their kitchen. "Then I guess you lucked out with me, huh? I must point out that I'm not actually short, I'm just not as tall as you," she said, standing up for herself. Metaphorically.
Cullen had a strange, strange way of going about things? "Then I'm glad you're not part of the mob, because holding a woman at gunpoint usually isn't considered very classy," she said. Plus it meant he'd be involved in sketchy things she didn't even really want to know about. Boo, sketchy things. "After watching Titanic I think I've developed a fear of boats. You cannot pair that movie with a storm and think that life will be all butterflies and rainbows from there," she said, shaking her head. The sad thing was, she was only half joking. "And I don't dance. Dancing is...strange."
"Ohh that's a good one, although nothing beats The Emperor's New Groove. Just saying," she said. She liked that generation of Disney movies. That and the old generation. Now they just sucked and it made her sad inside. Lily sighed and briefly looked at the window, trying to think. When she thought of an answer, she returned to looking at him. "Well, first off, that is a near-impossible question because I love a lot of things, but I'd have to say....monkey brains," she said with a straight face. She tried to keep that on, but eventually a hint of a grin appeared on her face and ruined her chance at seriousness. "Actually, I think I'd have to say...hmm...perogies or milkshakes." Eating them in the same meal was positively delightful. "Favourite vintage children's cartoon?".
