PERSONALITY:
i’m drowning, asphyxiated
On a good day, Harmony seems almost perfect. She tells people what they want to hear and throws compliments in all directions. In fact, she seems like a genuinely happy, charming young woman who had to have been sorted into Slytherin by some silly mistake. She has all the confidence in the world and is absolutely wonderful to talk to, with her natural charisma, interest in what is being said and witty, insightful comments at exactly the right time. She is also never rude and seems incapable of as much as hurting a fly. In fact, the only bad thing to be said about Harmony on a good day is that she seems too welcoming, so nice and attentive it appears to be forced.
break the spell that you’ve created
Unfortunately, this young woman does not have many good days, and no, she doesn’t really care about whatever silly little stories people want to tell. In fact, even when she pretends to listen, she’ll probably have forgotten within a few minutes. On a bad day – which is really more of an ordinary one than particularly ‘bad’ – this lady is cruel. She doesn’t care who gets hurt, because if they’re in her way (or general vicinity), they deserve it. There is nothing charming about her at all except her appearance on an especially bad day. No, she never loses her temper or screams and shouts for no reason, but with a serenity as eerie as hers, she doesn’t have to. Her rude remarks, spoken without a hint of sarcasm or really any emotion whatsoever, are enough to unnerve most people. It probably helps that she’s just barely 5’1 and has the face of an angel as well, because the innocence this gives off as opposed to how she acts can be quite unsettling.
something beautiful, a contradiction
And make no mistake, Harmony knows the vibe her angelic face gives off. She realizes most people would never believe her guilty of doing anything remotely evil, and combined with the fact that she is the Minister’s daughter, this has literally caused her to get away with murder. The murder of two muggles, in fact. You see, she loathes muggles and believes the world should be ruled by witches and wizards, preferably purebloods like herself. She has also picked up a fascination with dark magic from listening to old stories about Death Eaters and such. Ironic, really, that a little girl who once claimed she wanted to be an auror is now quite proficient at using the Crucio curse.
play the game, i want the friction
If anyone were to find out what Harmony has done and what really goes on in her mind, they would probably shake their heads and be sorry that the girl has been affected by the exposure to the public eye at such a young age and so on. They would be wrong. She is anything but a victim. All her choices have been made because she does not and never have had any love for the vast majority of the people around her and a selfish desire for power. To put it simply, Harmony Yaxley is a sadist. There is nothing she enjoys more than causing others pain and feeling like she is in complete control of them. No, she is in no way a victim (though she can pretend to be like no one else). She has been twisted from the start.
you will be the death of me
Redeeming traits? There aren’t a whole lot, unless an obsessive devotion to her immediate family counts. Anyone who as much as seeks to harm her parents or siblings will likely come to regret it very soon, because that is something Harmony would never let anyone get away with. She will happily hurt anyone who threatens her family. Even more happily than the way she hurts people who haven’t done anything, that is. Yes, she is vindictive, which is hardly a positive quality. She is also extremely jealous and possessive and does not allow anyone to touch her things, and also loathes when people don’t pay enough attention to her.
our time is running out
To summarize, Harmony is a twisted, cruel and sadistic woman with enough luck to be pretty. She hides her crimes behind an innocent look, her father’s rank and an ability to stay calm in any situation, and if anyone dares accuse her of anything, she will turn the tables and give them the blame without as much as a second thought. Naturally, being a former and (semi-secretly) a very stereotypical Slytherin, she wants power and cares about nothing more than exterminating muggles like the vermins they are to her. She’d like to rule the world too, but as long as her father is alive and in charge, she doesn’t feel the need to rush.

HISTORY:
Harmony Faith Yaxley was the second child born to Glena and William Yaxley, Minister for Magic. She was a lovely child in all ways, calm and beautiful and well-behaved. That was how she appeared, anyway. Unfortunately, from the moment she learned to walk, things went downhill. She retained (and still has) her unnaturally serene demeanor and rarely cried, but the way she acted around people who were not her parents or siblings wasn’t always charming. She would steal their visitors’ belongings, for instance, and if a cat or a dog was nearby, she’d yank the animal’s tail or attempt to poke out their eyes. She had her father wrapped around her finger from the day she was born, though, and he would explain her behavior away as the silliness of a child.
As she got older, she naturally learned to be more careful, and at the age of eight, for instance, she ‘convinced’ a friend of hers to jump into an old well. In other words, she pushed him while no one was around to see it. Then, she immediately ran to her parents with tears in her eyes, put on her most innocent face and told them she’d tried to convince him not to jump, but he’d done it anyway. Naturally, they rushed to get the boy out of the well immediately, and he turned out to be all right. His version of the story was discarded, however, chalked up to the mild concussion he’d gotten when he’d hit the bottom of the empty well. After that, he was a little bit more cautious around the not-so-angelic Harmony.
William Yaxley, like the rest of the family, didn’t quite understand why his daughter was sorted into Slytherin when she arrived at Hogwarts. Neither, it seemed, did the professors. She was always perfectly sweet and charming to adults and people with any kind of power, and when her fellow students ‘fell’ down the stairs or ran crying out of the Forbidden Forest in the middle of the night, poor, innocent Harmony often got the blame, but usually convinced everyone she was being framed. Yes, she was manipulative already at a young age – being cruel, clever and the daughter of the most powerful man in Wizarding Britain was a dangerous combination. Sure, the girl had some old-fashioned views on muggles, muggleborns and the like, but everyone expected her to grow out of that.
She didn’t. In fact, it only got worse. The summer before her sixth year, she met a real former Death Eater for the first time, recently released from Azkaban on parole. She was curious and followed him around for a bit, and eventually overheard him talking about his Death Eater days and laugh about the power he’d felt like he had possessed. There was genuine regret in his voice, as she had noted bitterly, but she didn’t think too much about that. The idea of such power, the power to truly dominate people that way, intrigued her. Upon returning to Hogwarts, she convinced a professor to grant her access to the library’s Restricted Section and spent most of the year reading up on and discreetly practicing dark magic.
It wasn’t until after she graduated Hogwarts that she dared attempt a real Unforgivable Curse, though, because she’d been worried she might be expelled. While visiting a muggle town in Northern Ireland that summer, though, she encountered a drunken muggle girl late at night. The girl didn’t do anything to bother her – Harmony just decided it’d be better if her first victim was too intoxicated for people to believe she had really had something like this happen to her. The Crucio curse worked exactly as intended, and after simply watching the girl writhe in pain for a little while, Harmony walked away and didn’t think of the girl again.
A few weeks later, she decided she was sick o Britain and got her father to rent her an apartment in Johannesburg, South Africa. She had finished moving by the start of October, but it took no more than six months for her to get bored of being surrounded by muggles all the time. They were all fools, in her opinion. Therefore, one day, she knocked on the door of the neighbors living across the hall with the excuse that her shower had stopped working so she wondered if she could borrow theirs. The neighbors were a couple in their mid-twenties, and while they’d never been anything but nice to Harmony, she loathed them simply because they had no magical powers. Therefore, as the woman was showing her the way to the bathroom, Harmony used the Imperius curse on her and got her to jump out the window, effectively killing her.
The young man naturally reacted with shock and hysteria, but Harmony soon transformed that into a world of dread and pain by repeatedly using Crucio on him. Just as he was begging for it all to end, she put down her wand, calmly walked over to the kitchen, grabbed a knife and stabbed him through the stomach with him. Once he finished bleeding to death, she contacted her father, pretending to be in a state of shock after having been assaulted by and thusly forced to kill the young man in self-defense. After an investigation, she was cleared of all charges as the man had clearly been disturbed when he died and it was quite likely that he had, in fact, tried to attack the poor, innocent Minister’s daughter.
She was asked by her father to come back to England, though, because he wanted her to be somewhere it was easier to protect her. Although she was bored of Johannesburg, Harmony was hesitant to go home, but soon decided she might as well do as she was told since she was supposed to be shocked and frightened. Shocked and frightened was not in Harmony’s nature, however, and instead of settling down and trying to lead an ordinary life, she got involved with her older brother’s work at Pulse. Before too long, she was an important part of running the place, even taking responsibility for finding veela and convincing them to work there… and earn some strictly not legal money in other ways.
