PERSONALITY:
It’s easy to see why Tobias was sorted into Hufflepuff. No other house wanted him. He’s not courageous or daring enough for Gryffindor. He’s certainly not smart for Ravenclaw. And Slytherin? The young man just lacks the ambition and cunningness that Slytherin house values. So with nowhere else left to go, Toby was shuttled into Hufflepuff. Not that he minded at all. Sure, he got a little made fun of at times, but he brushed it off. He might or might not have been the butt of several jokes and pranks by the older Slytherins (including his elder brother) in his younger years, but that has only made him stronger for it.
With his friends, Toby is very open. He probably has more acquaintances than most, since he makes it a point to know everyone by their first name. Plus, he likes to help random people. And then he’ll pull a little prank on them a couple of weeks later all in good fun. He doesn’t judge most people based on first impression and believe that everyone has a chance to prove themselves. And have second chances. Tobias is not without his bad points, naturally. He asks way too many questions, some that really shouldn’t be asked at all. He brushes things aside when they hurt him, preferring to not think about them at all. Tobias is somewhat impulsive, doing things without thinking them though, without considering the consequences. Like how he decided to tell a friend’s girlfriend that he was cheating on her. That was not a good thing to do.
That probably explains why Tobias has never entered a serious relationship before. He doesn’t know the right things to say, often scaring off a younger year female because he pointed out something she wasn’t pleased with. He’s quite horrible at flirting too. Plus, he likes to make fun of girls way too much for any one of them to consider dating him.

HISTORY:
For all intents and purposes, Tobias Alexander Gibbs had a normal childhood. Growing up in Godric’s Hollow, Toby was exposed to magic from a young age. His entire family was magical, so there was no surprise nor any parent looking at him strangely when things started flying about the room or when sudden gusts of wind appeared. Tobias had an elder brother and a younger sister for company during his childhood and he got along rather well with them. As well as any child got along with their siblings. His family was not like the obscenely huge Potter and Weasley clan, who got along way too well in his own humble opinion (when he would meet the lot of them later in Hogwarts.) His siblings and him had fights, blamed each other for things, and fought for their parents’ attention… all the normal things.
When it was time for him to go to Hogwarts, the young child was not excited. Nope. It was school. Who liked school? Well, it was a magic school, as his mother pointed out to him. Of course. Magic. Who didn’t like magic? So with just that tiny bit of excitement growing in him during the train ride, Tobias went to Hogwarts and got sorted into Hufflepuff. It was his mother’s former house, and one that Toby didn’t mind getting sorted into. Of course, his father favoured his elder son who got into Slytherin, something Tobias was used to.
His years at Hogwarts were also rather normal. Friends and enemies were made and sometime along in his fourth year, the girls became something more than people he’d play little pranks on. He found himself wanting to impress them, although he failed spectacularly because he had no idea how to do so. His sister joined him in Hogwarts a couple of years later and was also sorted into Slytherin. Why was that not a surprise to him? In his sixth year, Toby tried out for the Quidditch team, more for something fun to do.
His studies were never something Tobias put a lot of heed to. But he did try. Wouldn’t want to get kicked out of Hogwarts because his grades were up to par, right? Because despite his initial non excitement about Hogwarts, Toby had grown to love the old castle and hopes to one day return back as a staff member. But for now, he was to pass his NEWTS.
