PERSONALITY:
Even though trouble always seems to find Jared Anderson, surprisingly he doesn’t go looking for it. Instead, he looks for adventure. He can’t help it that most of the time, that adventure is paired with something that might just be a tad bit illegal. Even though he’s almost gotten arrested a couple of times, he’s not a completely horrible child, as his record might show. He does get spectacular grades and has a maturity level beyond his years. Unfortunately, that sophistication only comes out when he wants it to, and that’s rarely. He’s rather cunning and knows how to work people to get what he wants. He holds no shame in manipulating people as long as he gets what he wants in the end.
Of course, most of the time what he wants is a girl, and then she undoubtedly ends up broken hearted. He has a fear of commitment which he would never dare address out loud. He doesn’t want the cookie cutter life like his parents have. The thought of that made him practically sick to his stomach. In that respect, he’s rather cynical about the notion of love and thinks it’s all just a bunch of crap spun by advertisers to get people to spend more money on shiny jewelry and expensive vacations. Even though a lot of the times he brought trouble onto himself and deserved whatever he got, it’s still made him a little bit jaded. He’s very set in his ways and is very guarded. The last thing you would ever find this boy doing is sharing a part of himself with another person in the metaphorical sense. He can’t bring himself to trust people and keeps everyone at an arm’s length, figuratively speaking.
He’s not completely horrible and does have some redeeming qualities. He can charm the ladies, that’s for sure, and he can treat them well for a certain amount of time. It just doesn’t help that he doesn’t follow through. He is very protective of his younger sister; considering he is pretty much every example of a bad guy, he knows just how badly a guy can treat a girl. He’d knock some guy’s head off for treating his sister badly. He’s also incredibly charismatic and gets along with almost anyone, when he wants to get along with them. Half of the time he just doesn’t care, and ends up coming off as rude.

HISTORY:
Jared, despite his parents’ well-off status, had a rather rough upbringing. Sure, there was nothing wrong with his home life. His parents were fine, they dotted on his baby sister, they went to church every Sunday, his mother was some fantastic chef; that was the dull part of his childhood. It was the part where he always found himself in trouble that was a bit more interesting. He tended to do things he wasn’t supposed to, go to where he was forbidden, talk to people he shouldn’t, and participate in activities he shouldn’t have. He just didn’t like following the rules. The rules were, in Jared’s mind, only there to keep the weak in line. For people much like himself, the rules need not apply.
That only landed Jared with many detentions and practically twenty year’s worth of grounding, but Jar never went through with any of the punishments that were set out for him. Why would he? That was extraordinarily boring and there were things he’d much rather be doing. He lost his virginity at the tender age of 13-- it was horrible, that first time, but left him wanting to improve-- and did drugs when he was 14. He had his first drink when he was 11 and broke into his father’s liquor cabinet. Honestly, whoever thought giving that boy a wand should be thrown into Azkaban. Rather than settle down and focus on his school work like his parents hoped he would, he just caused more trouble than before. It was easier for him to break into places, it was easier to steal things, and it was easier to impress the ladies.
That being said, he didn’t grow up as a complete nuisance. After all, had that been the case, he probably would have been locked up in juvi somewhere. He was actually quite the charmer and knew how to work his way out of a sticky situation, depending on the adult he was dealing with. He was naturally intelligent and despite never doing his homework, he aced his tests. Half of his teachers thought he’d cheated, but really he just didn’t care to pay attention in class when the same thing was being repeated ten million times. But yes, he was a charmer, he was smart, he knew how to work people so that they would do what he wanted.
The only problem with that was that sometimes he took it a little too far. When he just turned 16, he accidentally got a girl pregnant. She miscarried within the first few weeks, thankfully, and Jared went about with his life as if nothing ever happened. When he was 15 and hanging out with an older crowd, he’d witnessed someone OD on heroin. Though he’d never done that particular drug, it sort of steered him away from going down that route. Again, thankfully. However, despite his aversion to drugs, he still gets himself into plenty of trouble. He parties and flirts, breaking many hearts along the way. He has a naughty habit of seducing women and never calling them back. And to think he’s not even finished at Hogwarts yet. His parents are terrified to release him to the real world.
