if theres one thing this girl loves more then anything else its quidditch. from a young age the longbottom children had attended ariana warringtons matches, thanks to their parents close friendship with the quidditch player and jocelyn fell head over heals for the sport. now you must understand that the longbottoms aren't a bunch of athletic people, in fact evangeline was known for being especially clumsy during her years at hogwarts, so it wasn't exactly easy for joce to get a handle on simple things like even riding a broom. practicing while growing up jocelyn was constantly picked on by her brothers, whom assumed they knew more about sports simply because they were boys and dont get her started on the warrington boy. nevertheless, joce constantly worked towards her goal of at least being on a hogwarts quidditch team, which finally became reality in her third year. as a team mate, jocelyn is one of the best. she knows when to push her companions and when to hold back. joce never wants her team to forget that they are a team and have to work together and she figures the closer they are the better they'll be.
off the pitch, jocelyn is completely different. she is a worry-wart with close to little confidence what so ever. most of the time she just feels socially inadequate and just keeps to herself or her close friends. the only real time she talks to people from other houses is if they are her youngest sister and the warrington siblings (which she feels counts as her real siblings also.) there are very few moments when jocelyn longbottom feels like she has to take charge and state her opinion, unless its a group assignment and the people she is forced to work with are dumber then rocks. its true that jocelyn is restricted by her fear of how other people will view her. yes having a boyfriend is nice, but you'll never find this girl snogging a boy in the public and she barely ever breaks the hogwarts rules. one of her biggest fears is the forbidden forest because of what happened to her mother when she was attending hogwarts long ago...but there only a handful of people that know about that incident.

HISTORY:
the love story of leroy and evangeline longbottom is the best of its kind. if you are not familiar with the relationship also known as evroy you are a poor soul and should do some serious research about it. just to recap, its a love that was pretty much arranged in the stars (as pointed out by the wonderful ari warrington). the begining of the relationship was a little bumpy to say the least and the two love birds had to go through some pretty hard times as a couple. in the end though, everything worked out and on a nice summers day the two got married. however, this is not a story about miss evangeline or mister leroy this is about their daughter: jocelyn.
jocelyn hannah longbottom was the second born in her family and the first daughter. after daniel and herself came a younger brother and a younger sister completing the longbottom family (even though she considers the two warrington children to be her siblings also). even when danny had the whole older-brother-complex down joce often found it was her responsibility to take care of the younger two longbottoms and make sure they were minding their 'p's and 'q's. growing up was a rather interesting experience seeing that she probably spent more hours at the leaky then anywhere else. joce wouldn't be the first to tell you that there are a few odd people that enjoy one drink or a few at the pub, however the close friends and rather nice guest always made up for some awkward customers.
finally she turned eleven and got her letter for hogwarts. it wasn't a surprise that the sorting hat called out 'HUFFLEPUFF' after mumbling something about the longbottoms being like the next weasleys, but jocelyn just shrugged it off and joined her brother at the dining table. the new hufflepuff student would never admit it, but she was rather brought down when one of her closest friends, warrington, didn't join her at the table cover in black and gold but instead followed in his mothers foot steps and headed over to ravenclaw. overall, the first few years at hogwarts were uneventful. jocelyn was surprised about how much hatred went towards just students in the hufflepuff house. she was even more confused on how in the world people got the guts to pick a fight with the headmasters granddaughter, but she learned to get used to it. (and by get used to it, we really mean 'learned to keep her mouth shut about it.)
it wasn't until her third year that things got a little bit interesting. first off, she tried out for the qudditch team and made it. her biggest dream was to be the keeper, but at the time she was the smallest person on the team and they really needed a seeker. it took a long time for jocelyn to accept the fact that maybe seeking was the best position for herself and after a few games in which they actually won joce felt that the team captain had made a wonderful choice placing her as seeker. the other reason why miss longbottom's third year was different was the boys. granted they had always been there, in the hallways, in the commonroom, pretty much everywhere except for the girls restrooms, but this year it was different. it was during her third year that jocelyn had her first 'boyfriend' if you'd really want to call what the two had a relationship. altogether the whole thing was pretty pathetically and probably lasted a span of two weeks. however from then on jocelyn had began to notice boys a little bit differently.
now jocelyn is in her sixth year and she just can't wait to get out of hogwarts. over the six years of her education joce has tangled herself up in way to much gossip then she'd like to admit. most of the time it isn't even her fault, but simply because she is a good median for two fighting people she was dragged into silly cat fights and superficially drama of her friends. add that with her constant worrying and all the confusion with her own relationships you can get a really stressed out jocelyn hannah longbottom. latley she can't get her mind off of warrington, her childhood friend, and a certain mister potter. she'd always assumed warrington hated her, or at least didn't think highly of her. of course he'd make fun of her boyfriends and stuff, but she just figured it was almost like a brother instinct kicking in. but when she told him about how she might start dating potter he decided to kiss her! in the hallway! with people looking! and what about potter in this whole situation? lets not lie here, jocelyn is fairly head over heels for the boy but now she's starting to question herself and who knows when she'll actually decided on her true feelings.

SAMPLE POST:
all scratched up and ready to go evangeline rae finnigan made her way back to hufflepuff's common room in the dungeon after coming back to hogwarts via floo powder and the headmasters fireplace. most students were eating dinner right in the great hall so it was prime time to settle back into her dorm with out getting bombarded with questions. evan could only imagine what people were thinking about concerning her disappearance. one thing the hufflepuff knew for sure was she didn't want anyone to know the truth. sure the staff at hogwarts knew and her closest friends, but beyond that she'd rather they didn't. the last thing she wanted was for parents to complain about sending their child to school with a 'monster'.
miss finnigan made her way to her dorm letting her fingers run across all she passed. mainly that just meant the brick walls, but also it meant the chairs and tables. the common room had an eerie, empty feeling to it with out the rest of the hufflepuffs so evangeline just tried to imagine the room filled with all her classmates. all the first years huddled together in the corner and then a group studying near the fire. evangeline shook her head a bit and blushed when her fingers ran over the back of the chair that leroy and her were sitting on when cupid flew in and started singing to them. now it was just something she could look back and laugh at but she very much remembered being freaked out by the whole situation at the time.
finally evangeline made it back to her dorm and started to unpack. it was nice to see toulouse was taken care for but at the time he was chasing a mouse and was to preoccupied to come and snuggle or anything. evan didn't really have a lot to bring back from saint mungos except for some jeans and t-shirts that were brought over so she was done quickly. "now what?" she asked toulouse as she sat on her bed. cats never had a way to answer questions though, so evangeline's stomach answered instead with a rather loud grumble. the girl smiled and got up, seriously the best thing about being a hufflepuff was the location of the common, so she got up and headed to the kitchen.
the kitchen was rather busy because the house elves were running around making sure there was enough food out in the great hall. as evangeline waited for a little house elf to pass her way she wondered if they could tell she was different now. there was many nights that she had spent sneaking into the kitchen with her friends so it wasn't like she was a stranger to the elves, but what if they had some underlying problem with werewolves or something? problem or not a small familiar elf came by and asked evan if she'd like anything to eat. "soup sounds good, if you don't mind..." evangeline started, but the elf was gone by the time she finished saying 'sou-'. evangeline found an empty chair and sat down before she heard the door of the kitchen open. right away her heart sank. it would suck if a teacher came down and caught her, the last thing she needed was a detention.
